Second language protects against Alzheimer’s – CBS News.
Very interesting! How’s that for motivation?
On Friday, February 25th the German Club will be going to Greenwood’s German restaurant in Forth Worth. We will meet at the restaurant at 7. There is an option to carpool if you need it.
I will need a head count of 1) Who is coming and 2) Do you need a ride. You can comment on the blog entry.
Let me know soon! I will give extra credit on an assignment for those who attend.
Here is a link to the restaurant if you want to check out prices, location and the menu.

YouTube – Krümel und Lulatsch erklären “Hier und Da”.
A short clip from Sesamestraße explaining the difference between “hier” und “da”. Watch several times and try to pick up what they’re saying! It’s really very funny.
YouTube – 23.12.2010 Heidi das schielende Opossum aus Leipzig.wmv.
Too funny. Heidi is making quite a stir at the Leipzig Zoo.
How do I make those letters with the umluats?
Here’s how:
ß: Alt 225
ä: Alt 132
ö: Alt 148
ü: Alt 129
Ä: Alt 142
Ö: Alt 153
Ü: Alt 154
On a Mac:
Use the OPTION key. Hold down OPTION and push ‘s’ to get ß. For the umlauted characters, hold down OPTION and push ‘u’. Release OPTION, then type the desired base letter (a, o, u, A, O, or U). The umlaut will appear over the letter you typed. (So to type ü, you should hold down OPTION, press u, then release OPTION and press u again, to get an ö, hold OPTION, then press u, then release OPTION and press o. )
