We are proud to make this service available to all current UT Arlington students, faculty and staff.
What is a blog?
The term “blog” is short for “weblog”. As blogger.com has so eloquently put,
“A blog is a personal diary. A daily pulpit. A collaborative space. A political soapbox. A breaking-news outlet. A collection of links. Your own private thoughts. Memos to the world. Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes.”
What is the Maverick Blogs Service?
UT Arlington is providing all students, faculty and staff the ability to create their own blog. We have chosen WordPress as the software for this service, software that many of you may already be familiar with.
What can I put in my Blog
You may post text, pictures or almost anything you can think of. Please keep in mind that the content of your Blog must be in line with the University of Texas at Arlington Information Resources Acceptable Use Policy.
We think this technology is so important for communication in today’s world that we want to promote the use of blogs by everyone at UT Arlington. The UT Arlington blog service is starting small, but you can use your NetID to sign on, create your blog (see the FAQ for instructions on how to create your blog), become part of the blog directory and have your blog searched under the “Maverick Blog” umbrella.
