Cutting for Stone

Finally the weather has cooled off enough to allow us to meet on the Starbucks patio yesterday! Themes discussed were forgiveness, love, and family. We also made comparisons of Verghese’s work to that of Charles Dickens. We learned a lot about Ethiopia from the book. All in all, it was a lengthy book that could haveĀ benefitedĀ from some good editing, but it was fascinating and compelling and worth spending time with.
