What to do, What to do?

With roughly six hours before it would be time to board the flight back to America one choice alone would be made . . . catch a few hours of sleep or stay up all night?  Seems clear these few elected to stay up through the night.

Let's Get It On!

On our last night in China some students attended a performance at The Red Theater.  Yes, it was red.  The story followed a young boy and his journey through life as he in late adulthood would become Kung Fu Master.

Remember

It would have been a shame to go all the way to China and not visit a Buddhist Temple.  Here students light candles, perhaps with hopes for an “A” in the immersion studies course.

Beijing Tailor

If everything is made in China anyway it makes perfect sense to buy directly from the source.  Here students are discussing fabric options for custom tailored clothing.

Different is certainly different

At one point or another each of us would seek a dining experience that didn’t resemble one of the many “Chinese Buffets” found all around the country.  Here, a stop at an Italian restaurant for pizza reveals one topping everyone picked off.  English Peas anyone?

The Great Wall

Standing atop one of many centry towers gives an astonishing view of China’s Great Wall . . ..  Hey, I think I can see Russia from here!

At times American TV Icons were recognized in the marketing of certain products.  Here, Family Guy’s Peter Griffin suggests you try putting on his underpants.

Turtle Power

As we walked through Walmart we noticed many of the same departments here in Beijing as we would find in the US.  It was interesting, however, to walk through the meats department here and find live turtles.  The entire department reminded some of a childhood visit to the aquarium.

Too Bad, So Sad

We aren’t a shy group, no, not at all.  Here Brad learns the rules of a game played by restaurant goers (mostly UTA EMBA students) just a little too late.  He was rather sad to learn he was being kicked off the stage.

What A Performance!

On this particular evening the group dinner took us to one of Beijing’s “Minority Owned” restaurants.  Chinese Muslims performed for us, table side.
