			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h4>Power upgrade set for ERB network</h4>
<p>The Office of Information Technology will install a new component in the power system for the Engineering Research Building that will interrupt the network in the ERB and the Wade Building from 6 p.m. <strong>Friday, May 24</strong>, until 2 a.m. <strong>Saturday, May 25</strong>.</p>
<p>The network outage will impact only these two locations. Power systems for the rest of the buildings are not affected.</p>
<p>Services housed in the Arlington Regional Data Center and network services for the rest of the campus will not be affected.</p>
<h4>North bridge elevators out for summer</h4>
<p>Elevators for the north bridge over Cooper Street will be out of service <strong>Monday, May 13-Aug. 5</strong>, for an upgrade. The elevators on the south bridge will be accessible during this time.</p>
<h4>Steam outage planned May 13-15</h4>
<p>The Thermal Energy Plant will shut down steam service to the campus <strong>Monday-Wednesday, May 13-15</strong>, to complete annual inspection and repairs.</p>
<p>Buildings served by the plant will be without hot water and steam during that time but will still have electrical power, air conditioning, and cold water service.</p>

<h4>Library renovations close sixth floor</h4>
<p>The sixth floor of the Central Library will close for renovations <strong>Monday, May 13-Friday, Aug. 2</strong>. The floor will be inaccessible during construction time.</p>
<p>During construction, the administration staff will move to Suite 516.  Special Collections will close <strong>Friday, May 10</strong>. The Special Collections staff will relocate to various parts of the library. Exhibits and other materials will not be available during this time.</p>
<p>The Center for Southwestern Studies will move to the History Department in University Hall.  Library staff will use Study Room 414A, which will not be available for the summer.</p>

<p>Facilities Management will be working on various buildings throughout the winter break.  Please be aware of construction signage for building closings, room closures, redirection of entrances/exits and signage around the campus.</p>

<p><strong>ELECTRICAL OUTAGES</strong></p>
<p>NOTE FOR BUILDING OUTAGES: Facilities Management <span style="text-decoration: underline">strongly</span> recommends that all equipment is turned off before leaving for the holiday break and all office refrigerators cleaned out.  The emergency generator for the building <span style="text-decoration: underline">will </span>remain operational during the entire outage to support on-going research.  Facilities Management has attempted to meet with anyone doing research to ensure that their research project is supported.</p>
<p>Anyone with any questions about electrical support for building research need to contact OFM to ensure that their project is supported with emergency power.  Please do not assume that your lab area will be supported by emergency power.  Police Dispatch will be fully operational during this time.</p>
<p>Hammond/Trimble – electrical upgrades (DECEMBER 26-28)</p>
<p>No one will be allowed in the building during this project, if someone needs to get to an office to pick something up, they will require an escort in and out of the building by Facilities Management or the Police Department. </p>
