Ramp at Davis Hall

Ramp replacement set for Davis Hall

The accessible ramp at the south basement entrance of Davis Hall will be replaced next month. The south entrance to the building will be closed Saturday, March 9-Friday, March 22.

All other building entry and exit points will remain open. Temporary signage will direct visitors to the north entrances of the building.

Railroad closures

Railroad crossings between Division and Abram streets at Bowen, Davis, Cooper, Center, Mesquite, and Collins will all be closed at the same time Jan. 16-24.

Available north-south routes within the city limits are Green Oaks, Fielder, West, Stadium, and Texas Highway 360. West Street starts behind the E.H. Hereford University Center and runs north through downtown Arlington, connecting to Division. Fielder is west of campus.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS AND PROJECTS

Facilities Management will be working on various buildings throughout the winter break.  Please be aware of construction signage for building closings, room closures, redirection of entrances/exits and signage around the campus.

All projects and dates are subject to change 

STREET CLOSURES

West and 3rd streets – closed for resurfacing

ELECTRICAL OUTAGES

NOTE FOR BUILDING OUTAGES: Facilities Management strongly recommends that all equipment is turned off before leaving for the holiday break and all office refrigerators cleaned out.  The emergency generator for the building will remain operational during the entire outage to support on-going research.  Facilities Management has attempted to meet with anyone doing research to ensure that their research project is supported.

Anyone with any questions about electrical support for building research need to contact OFM to ensure that their project is supported with emergency power.  Please do not assume that your lab area will be supported by emergency power.  Police Dispatch will be fully operational during this time.

Hammond/Trimble – electrical upgrades (DECEMBER 26-28)

No one will be allowed in the building during this project, if someone needs to get to an office to pick something up, they will require an escort in and out of the building by Facilities Management or the Police Department.

THANKSGIVING

Street Resurfacing on West Street from Mitchell to Pecan and UTA Blvd to 1st Street

Beginning Wednesday, November 21 through Sunday, November 25, West Street will be closed to resurface Mitchell to Pecan Streets at UTA Blvd to 1st Street.  Please be aware of construction signs and cones as traffic will be redirected.

First Street closed beginning Nov. 26

East First Street, from Mesquite Street to Center Street, will be closed for reconstruction from Monday, Nov. 26, to Saturday, Dec. 15.

November 2012

Homecoming, November 16-17

November 16 – Pecan Street in front of the College Park District will be closed from 5pm-10pm for Homecoming activities.  Parking will be limited but garages are opened during the festivities. 

November 17 – Nedderman Drive in front of the MAC will be closed at 9am for the Homecoming 5K Run.  Route is around the campus so drivers are encouraged to be aware of additional pedestrians and runners in the area. (see below)

Campus signage upgrades in College Park District

Various locations around the College Park district will be closed or limited due to signage upgrades.  Please be aware of construction signs and cones in the areas where traffic is being redirected.
