Emergency Generator Testing Friday, July 15th

Facilities Management will be testing the emergency electrical generators serving the following buildings on Friday, July 15, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.:

Business Building

Carlisle Hall

Central Library

Hammond Hall

Life Science Building

Pickard Hall

Science Hall

Trimble Hall

This testing will only affect the electrical services tied to each building’s generator, not the entire building.  There will be a slight “blip” lasting approximately one half of a second as the electrical service transfers to the generator and another as it is transferred back to the normal building service.  It is recommended you keep computer work in progress saved during this timeframe to prevent any possible data loss.  Please let your faculty and staff members know as necessary.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your cooperation.

Hammond Hall Roofing Replacement

On Monday, June 20th, a contractor will begin installation of a new roofing system on Hammond Hall.  This installation is scheduled to be completed by July 10th, but adverse weather conditions could cause delays.  During this time frame there will be some noise and possibly some smells similar to a parking lot or street being paved nearby.  The contractor will try their best to minimize any disruption to campus activities.  Please let your fellow faculty and staff members know as you feel necessary.

We apologize for any inconveniences that may be caused, and thank you for your cooperation.  If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail Jeff Johnson at jljohnson@uta.edu

Temporary Water Outage – Life Science Building Saturday, June 4th @ 8 am

In order to facilitate a construction project in the Life Science Building, the contractor would like to schedule a temporary water outage for the entire building for Friday evening, June 3rd, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m.

I have checked Saturday’s room usage for this building and resolved any possible conflict with scheduled classes.  Please check with your fellow faculty and staff members, and let us know as soon as possible if there are any conflicts, questions, or concerns about this water outage.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation.

Closure of Pedestrian Pathways Between Carlisle, Preston, and Ransom Halls

In order to facilitate a construction project at Carlisle Hall, fencing and scaffolding is been installed around the perimeter of the building.  The installation of this fencing and scaffolding will necessitate the closure of the current pedestrian pathways between Carlisle Hall, Preston Hall, and Ransom Hall for the duration of this project which will take 30-60 days.  Signs will be placed around the area to identify the modified pathways.  Please let your fellow faculty and staff members know as you feel necessary.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact either Nick Myers at nmyers@uta.edu or Don Lange at donlange@uta.edu .
