I am an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Arlington where I teach in the Literacy Studies department. Please browse my blog and find out more information about my current research projects.Currently, I am working on finding funding for a peace-keeping and yoga curriculum that I have developed using writing, children’s literature, yoga, art and social action. Please click on “Global Peaceful Paths” to find out more information.
My other research interests include feminist methodology in which I represent data using poetic transcription. This study explores female faculty experiences in academia. I am also the principal investigator on a university-wide Quality Enhancement Grant where we use blogging to enhance critical and higher-order thinking skills in an undergraduate literacy in the content area course.I’ve also written an article on how to incorporate social action in a 6th grade classroom. It is published in the journal, “Democracy and Education”.
