Here are a few facts from the CDC about how you can and can not get Ebola:

YOU CAN NOT GET EBOLA
Through the Air
Through the Water System/Water in General
Through Food

YOU CAN GET EBOLA
Touching Blood or Body Fluids of a Person that is sick or has died
Touching Contaminated objects (ex. Needles)
Touching infected animals (blood, bodily fluids or meat)

Look for more information at the CDC’s website or check with your local health officials. The more you know…The more you can protect those around you.

    UTA Nursing students, faculty and staff are welcome to come and sign a banner for the nurse from Dallas Presbyterian who contracted the Ebola virus.

    Show how strong a sisterhood and brotherhood and family that the nursing profession is by supporting one of the sisters at this time.

    A message to Nina:

    We send our hope and wishes to you in this time and wish the very best for you. And when you feel like you need more than a helping hand to lift your spirits, always remember that you have a family in scrubs whether the color be blue, purple, white, red or green, you will always have our support and our wishes.

  • Computer Labs A, B & C will be closed for testing on Monday, October 13th due to high volume of students testing. The closing details are listed below:

    The labs will reopen for general use when testing is completed. The LRC will be open for other services, i.e. Printing for Projects, picking up supplies, general questions, ect. We ask that you remain quiet as you enter the LRC for other services.

    If you will be taking the test, you will need to leave all hoodies, sweaters, jackets, backpacks, bookbags and phones in your classroom, locker or car.

  • The Texas State Fair is in full swing, and this saturday brings the annual football showdown.

    Texas Longhorns (2 – 3, 1 – 1 Big XII) will face their heated rival Oklahoma Sooners (4 – 1, 1 – 1 Big XII) in the annual meeting in the Cotton Bowl on the Fair Ground in Dallas. This will be the 109th Meeting with Texas holding the series lead 60-43-5. The last 10 Meeting have the series tied 5-5 with Oklahoma winning 3 of the Last 4 and Texas winning last year.

    If you will be attending the State Fair this Saturday, be aware of traffic before, during and after the game on I-30 E/W, I-35E N/S and I-45 N/S and all traffic both vehicle and pedestrian in and around the fairgrounds.

    The Game will air on ABC/WFAA Channel 8 and kickoff is at 11A

  • The Maverick Speaker Series will present the original Odd Couple. Mary Matalin & James Carville will be speaking at Texas Hall on October 20th. The husband and Wife duo are noted Political Commentators for Their Respective Parites (He Democrat/She Republican). See how Love & Politics mix for a marriage made in Washington D.C.
