Alexz is right. The snow day was epic. I’ve never seen that much snow in my entire life…except for when I was in Alaska…but that doesn’t count. A friend of mine said that she finally learned to “run in the snow”. Is it supposed to be hard? Don’t you just pick up your feet and run normally…with snow under your feet? Yes. That’s how it happens. I tried it.
So, now that The Office is making people think that it’s coming to an end…I’ve moved on to bigger and better things. Flight of the Conchords. Ohhh, yes. It’s Business Time. Flight of the Conchords consists of two guys from New Zealand. They are funny. Not the usual “they are funny.” But as in, they ARE funny. After the 3.5 day weekend we had, I needed a little bit of “funny”. Sitting in your room is not all it’s cracked up to be. You get sooo bored sooo easily. That’s where the TV comes in. Beautiful things can happen. Especially if your friend lets your borrow Season 1 of Flight of the Conchords. If you’ve never seen them…go to YouTube. Right now. Go.
Our new tour kicked off this week! Yay! I give the 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and the 1 p.m. on Thursdays, and I have yet to give the new tour. Today, we have a special tour (a bunch of high schoolers!) and yesterday…no one showed up for my tour. Bummerrrr. So for me, the new tour kicks off NEXT week. I love special tours! They’re so much fun! Especially when it’s a big group. They always have questions and fun things to say.
Zack is proud of me because 2 days ago I ordered some Burberry London perfume. Apparently that’s a milestone for my life. And I have “many, many Zack points” now. Yippee? I suppose I should feel like my life has been blessed or something by his approval. Yay me?
I’m sooo ready to go to London for my study abroad. Only 696 more days!
-Caitlyn!
I feel like I should start off with something about the Office. Anyone that saw last week’s episode will probably agree with me in saying that it seems like NBC is starting to wrap up this wonderful TV show. The new episode was basically all about flashbacks to previous episodes and seasons. This is the end, folks!
Today I gave a campus tour to about 6 Junior guys and 2 Junior girls. Ohhh, high school. I heard, “Man, this place is so much bigger than high school” and “I’m going to need a new pair of shoes for college…this is a lot of walking.” They asked me a question that 1. I had no idea what the answer was and 2. I had never even thought about before.
“Can we bring golf carts to college?”
Hmm. I actually have no idea. You can chain it up like a bike and it’ll get you to classes pretty quickly. But I’m sure a lot of people could get hurt. That would be interesting. For some reason, I can hear my Astronomy professor’s voice in my head yelling, “Don’t take that golf cart down this corridor!” He graduated from Oxford University. So he’s a really funny old man with an English accent. I can tell he’s going to be one of my favorites. As well as my French professor for this semester. She’s awesome. I want to BE her. I’ve already learned a lot from her and it’s only the 2nd week of class! Elle est très magnifique!
One of the things I love about UT Arlington is all of the study abroad opportunites we have. I’ve already gone over to the Swift Center to talk to a study abroad advisor! Hopefully, if all goes according to plan, I’ll be in Leicester, England in the Spring of 2012. If my student visa will allow me, I want to be able to stay with someone for part of the summer and see some of the London Summer Olympics! How awesome would that be? Yeah. I have a plan. There are a lotttt of scholarships available for Mavericks to study abroad, so I may not even have to pay that much. I have my passport, so I’m halfway there…basically…
I’m definitely really excited about our new tour! The launch date has changed to February 8th, so that a few more tweaks can be made to the layout of the tour. We’ll get on the Mav Mover (our bus that goes around campus) and go into Connections Cafe for some ice cream! Yay!
