The Department of Modern Languages Conversations Series is a gathering of faculty, staff and students who come together to share ideas and life experiences about the human condition. Every Conversation Series event consists of a short assigned reading, a theme and a potluck lunch held during the noon hour until 1 PM. There is no lecture, nor Q & A. Instead, we build community and celebrate the diversity of the University through a moderated conversation on a given topic and text. UTA has a rich international community and we try to draw on its experiences and insights. In February of 2012, we met to discuss the meanings of “Home.”
Our Fall 2012 Conversation Event will be happening on Monday October 5 at noon in the Language Lab Lounge on the Third Floor of Trimble Hall. Our topic will be the impact of technology on our private and professional lives. We will be posting the article we’ll be discussing on this webpage shortly. This will be a potluck event. All are welcome.
