The Department of Modern Languages hosts an International Mystery Book club. Our club began in the summer of 2012 with a dozen members of the UTA faculty and staff community and the larger Arlington community coming together to talk about Helen Turst’s Detective Inspector Huss (Sweden), Luis Alfredo García Roza’s The Silence of the Rain (Brazil), and The Chalk Circle Man by Fred Vargas (France). Beginning in the Fall of 2012 our club will meet in the Trimble Hall Language Lab Lounge (third floor) for a one hour potluck. We only read mysteries by non-U.S. authors.
Fall 2012 books:
Friday September 28, noon: Still Life by Louise Penney (Canada)
Friday October 26, noon: Inspector Imanashi Investigates by Seichi Matsumoto (Japan)
Friday November 30, noon: Wife of the Gods by Kwei Quarty (Ghana)
All are welcome!
