Our office was recently made aware of the following message sent to some members of the UTA community:

No one at UT Arlington will ever ask you to update your NetID password via email, so you should immediately be able to identify this as a phishing attempt.

Hovering your mouse over the provided link shows something is definitely phishy -

The only online website to update your account password is UTA’s Self Service page – www.uta.edu/selfservice.

The link in the email takes a user to a page that is most definitely not a UTA affiliated site -

Great job to the employee who immediately recognized this as a phishing attempt and forwarded it on to the Information Security Office!
