Historical perspective of inventions

I came across this interesting book when I was scouring the shelves here in the Science & Engineering Library.   The title is A timetable of inventions and discoveries: from pre-history to the present day.
I have more than a slight interest in history, so the title intrigued me.   Although the publication date is 1986! and much has been invented and discovered since then, I do think the book is worth a peek.  Especially since it is a timetable.   For every period of time and then each year, the author lists what was invented or discovered during that time or for that year.  I especially love the author’s dedication “This chronology is dedicated to GOD Creator of all things.”
