Dr. Minerva Corder-Epperson (Math Dept.) is now an elected member of the Board of Governors of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA). This body governs the MAA.
Dr. Nur Yazdani (Chair, Civil Engineering) was elected a Fellow of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) “in recognition of his outstanding and significant contributions to the production or use of concrete materials, products and structures in the areas of research, development, design, construction and management.”
Dr. Sia Ardekani and Dr. Stephen Mattingly have been awarded a North Central Texas Council of Governments Research Grant. Lasting one year, the grant will assist them in studying sustainable development in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Dr. Guillermo Ramirez (Civil Engineering) is now a member of the review panel for the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship program for the year 2009.
