By Thi Nguyen

Two GMX employees died and 52 other employees experienced injuries during an explosion Monday, said Neena Voltare, GMX Public Relations’ director during a press conference.

Hector Fuentes, 45, and James Frankel, 32, died as a result of injuries. They were found dead on the scene. Out of 52 employees found injured, there were three hospitalized, Scott McCoy, 25, Leia Skywalker, 33, James T. Kirk, 30.

“Kirk and Skywalker will have a long recovery period that will be painful at times,” said Burn Specialist Pierce Brosnan. “We cannot make an assessment of McCoy’s recovery at this time.”

The fire explosion damaged about 25,000 square feet of plant, the assembly line equipment and the bay area. The cause of the explosion happened after someone placed a 300-gallon into a gasoline tank, said Fire Inspector Colin Ferrell.

Police officials are currently seeking two young males who were seen in the area between 10 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. in connection to the explosion. The young men sought for questioning were wearing blue-hooded sweatshirts with the work “FORD” on the back.

The employees will be given the option to move temporarily to another plant location in Midland, Texas, until the Arlington plant is reopened, said GMX Public Relations, Neena Voltare.  After being evacuated people were allowed to go back to their homes at 2:30 p.m. once all the clear was given by EPA officials concerning the air quality

Three fire stations responded to the call, which came in at 11:56 a.m. Fire engines arrived within a few minutes of each other beginning at 12:04 p.m. The fire was doused at 1:47 p.m.

By Thi Nguyen

Jesse James, a well-known outlaw in the 1800s, robbed First Fidelity Bank.

A relative of the infamous Jesse James robbed the same bank Wednesday morning and was caught by a police officer with $20,000. The robber said that Jesse James was his great-great uncle and he wanted to finish what he started.

The same bank has been robbed nearly 100 years ago by the famous Jesse James and his brother Frank— they too were caught.
