Best Places to Study!
Being a college student with so much to study is not easy. What’s not easier is finding a place to study! I always find myself trying to figure out where to go that will help me get my work done. For people that live close to campus, they have many places at school that are perfect for studying, like the library, the MAC, and quiet study areas in other buildings.
As for people who live far away from UTA, there are some great places for us to study!
Coffee houses are great places to study! There are multiple small bakeries in Dallas that have quiet coffee house music playing and no one ever talks that loud. Some places are Mozart Bakery, Green House Bakery, and Coffee House Cafe.
Quiet parks are a relaxing place to go to study. Make sure you go when the weather isn’t too windy, too hot, or too cold. When the weather is nice, especially during the spring time, parks are a great place to go to study. You would be surprised how much work you actually get done! Not only that, but you will feel relaxed, which is hard to feel when studying!
Local Libraries are the quietest places to find! If you are someone that can’t study with any noise, find a local library close to you that you can go to whenever you need to. These libraries are just as good as the ones on campus, minus a kid screaming every now and then.
Try these places out the next time you need to study for an exam!
Need a New Doo?
Paul Mitchell is one of the cheapest salons you can go to! Although they are just students, they have their teachers there that keep a close eye on what they are doing, and they do not do anything until the students get their instructor’s approval. I got my hair done there a few times and my hair always turned out exactly how I wanted! Everything is about half priced and the staff is always fun and friendly.
Toni&guy is the best place to get your hair done, but for a price! It is not cheap here, but the hairstylists here have tons of experience and you will always get the hair color you want. I would not recommend going here if you just want a trim or a plain hair color. You can go to cheaper places for that. But, if you want to do something crazy and risky, I recommend going here! You won’t have to worry about having your hair turn ORANGE!
Korean Hair Salons in my option, give the best haircuts! They don’t use scissors, but use a trimming blade. They make sure your layers are perfect and gradual. You will never get a choppy haircut from these places! Only downside is if you’re not Korean, you might have a hard time communicating with your hairstylist! Which could turn out really bad!
Dog Lovers!
Are you a dog lover? Fenced in dog parks are great places to take your dog. They don’t have to be on a leash, there are other dogs for them to play with, and you can have fun playing fetch without worrying about your dog running away! Some dog parks that I recommend are the Lewisville dog park, the Denton dog park, and the indoor dog park in Dallas. The one in Lewisville has a skate park next to it, which can be a fun place to check out after spending some time with your dog. There are water fountains and overhead covers that keep you cool from the Texas heat. The Denton dog park is really fun, because this place has a pond! Your dog can go for a swim. The indoor dog park is a great spot to go to because of the Texas heat. Your dog will love the large wide open space to run in and play with other dogs.
Love Korean Food? Here are some good places to try!
Koryo Kalbi Korean BBQ
Suite 105, 2560 Royal Lane Dallas, TX 75229
This Korean restaurant has one of the best meat dishes in all of Dallas! They have all kinds of Korean food, from bibimbab to different kinds of soup. Not only is the food really good, but the service is great too! You will get seated right away and the servers have amazing customer service. I recommend getting the marinated beef short rib and either the spinach and clam soup or the tofu soup.
Han Mi Ri
2216 Royal LN #119 Dallas, TX 75229
I personally go to this place all the time. They have really clean and healthy food here. This place is small, but gets great business due to their delicious lunch meals. It is a good place to go for breakfast or lunch. They close at 7 p.m., so really a good dinner spot. Try out this place! The whole menu is delicious!
Mozart Bakery
This small bakery located in both Carrollton and Dallas, is a great place to go for frozen desserts and fresh bread. They have macaroons, ice cream, bubble tea, all sorts of bread, and all kinds of coffees and teas. It is also a nice place to go to study. Sometimes it gets loud though, usually on Sundays. It is also a nice place to meet a friend for some dessert and to chat.
More than what I expected…
Fort Worth Botanic Garden Butterfly Exhibit
I did not expect much when I went there, but I actually had a lot of fun. Personally I feel like there aren’t that many things to do in Dallas, so I try going to random places and trying them out. This place was worth it! I got a ticket off Groupon, so it was only $10 for two people. It is usually $1o per person. I thought I wouldn’t be able to see a lot of the butterflies and I would just be walking around looking at plants, but they were everywhere! They land on you and you can see so many different types of them. It’s a nice place to go to get some really good profile pictures! The scenery is nice and there are tons of butterflies flying around. But, the only downside is that it gets crowded there, which wasn’t that fun because it was hot outside.
Hottest Night Clubs
Lizard Lounge
This night club is one of the hottest spots to go to in Dallas! Located on 2424 Swiss Avenue, this place has a great atmosphere with amazing DJs. If you have the choice of getting VIP tickets versus regular tickets, get the VIP tickets! It is not crowded in the VIP lounge, so it is a lot easier to have a fun night drinking and dancing with friends. Also, get there early because drinks get pricey after 11 p.m.! This place is huge with many dance floors! You will have a blast!
Plush
This club is right in the middle of Main Street in downtown Dallas, so if you do not like it there, you can always go to another one. This club has multiple floors and many bars; however, you do need to get VIP passes in order to go to the second floor. The second floor has a balcony and more space! Plush usually has featured guests and famous DJs, so check this place out!
Station 4
This club is the hottest gay club to go to! Right in Oaklawn area, the streets are filled with gay bars and clubs, but S4 is a must go! They have a huge dance floor with drag queen shows! Try this place out!
These are the best night clubs in Dallas that are busy all weekend! You will want to get your name on a guest list or get there early because the lines get extremely long!
Looking for a good laugh?
Go to Improv Comedy in Addison! Local and famous comedians come here and spit their funniest jokes! The food is great and the atmosphere is lively and has a lot of energy! It is a great place to go with friends, or even a good place to take a date! I got fried pickles and onion rings. The pickles were delicious, but I do not recommend the onion rings. They were drenched in oil. Tickets are at a very reasonable price! So, do not miss out on this place! Go give it a try!
