Artistic Response to War
The Black Eyed Peas-Where is the Love?
The track “Where is the Love?” by The Black Eyed Peas describes the effects of war and what it has done to the American society. The lyrics show the addiction of the American society to war and only things that seem to bring trauma and regret among our fellow Americans. While the USA is overseas trying to prevent terrorism from occurring, terrorism still exists among our society. Therefore contradiction is evident because we have not found a solution to the terrorism that exist in our country how can we help another country with their terrorism? Love is the solution to all the madness that is shown from the war, but until we begin to embrace and show love for one another people will continue to die and be kilt. The important reason for why the war is being declared is kept secret from the Americans which prevent people from being able to understand the meaning of war. People have the wrong intentions for war they only think about making a profit from the war however they don’t think about the consequences of their decision on society. The media spreads the wrong information to the Americans about the war which entices them to think that the reasons why we are going to war are worthwhile. The value of humanity has been lost throughout the war because people forget about equality and spreading love to everyone. The lack of understanding that has been placed in many Americans minds is leading us away from unity as a country because people think dropping bombs on the countries that terrorized United States is the right thing to do. This world that we are living in is the only world that we have and there is something wrong with it because of the effects of war.
