American Soldier

This song is a representation of the men and women who serve our country.  It shows how life can change in a moment and our soldiers are protecting our freedom, these men and women  heroes.

I choose music for my form of responses to war. I think music is so important especially in history, music has a way of carrying you to another world. Music and lyrics and help explain feelings and the way things were. During War time especially the Vietnam war young men were enlisting in the armed forces, not because they wanted to, but because that was the expected thing to do. Many of these young men were not ready to become soldiers and songs like the Dixie Chick’s “Traveling Soldier” help depict the romace they left behind and the feelings of loved ones. I also choose Toby Keith’s “American Soldier” this is a song that was written after 9/11 this song reperesents the daily life of soldiers and how one day can change everything in there lives.  Soldiers have to be ready to go fight for our country at a moments notice and I am so grateful for there dedication to our freedom.It gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes to think of these men who are husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons leaving to go fight in a War. Music has a way of connecting thoughts and feelings with emotion for everyone to experience.
