Email Notifications

If you don’t check your UTA emails on a regular basis you may not be aware that most students are being asked to change their passwords. Your current password will be expired in a few more days. The email notification will instruct you on how to change your password. The instructions are simple and will only take a few minutes. Changing your password before your current one expires will give you access to blackboard, my mav, and your UTA email account. Check your email for further information.

Study Tips

As the semester is winding down it seems as if there is alot of things you have to get done. This is normal for most college students. I’m sure you have last minute papers you have to finish, lab practicals to study for, and finals to study for. Hopefully you have already gotten yoourself prepared for these last couple of weeks. If not don’t panic. Start NOW. You still have time to study for your exams, and to finish last minute essays. This is the point of the semester where if you had to choose fun over school; you should choose school! Make plenty of time to study for your exams, and to review what you studied. If you don’t know by now, find out which way you study the best. If you study best with a group, plan a study session. If you study best alone, find a peaceful area and let you mind go to work. You’ve made it this far through the semester, so I’m sure that you can finish off right. Goodluck on your finals!

Final Exams

Next week is dead week, so that means FINALS are the week after. Make sure you know the scheduled days and times for each of your final exams. An accurate final exam scedule can be found on the UTA website, but to be clear check in with your professor. It would be very wise to start studying for each of your exams NOW if you haven’t already began. I wish you all the best of luck, and I hope this semester was a success for each of you!

Summer School Tips

Summer is right around the corner. Literally! If you plan on taking summer school, or if you are considering it here’s a few tips:

1. Do not overload yourself. Summer courses can be more intense than regular coarse so try to take it easy.
2. If you plan on taking summer courses at a community college make sure your credits will transfer.
3. If you are not comfortable with the course once it begins do not hesitate to drop it.
4. Treat your summer courses just as you would treat your fall and spring courses. They are just as important, and you contributing your time and money.

I hope these tips were helpful; if I think of any more I’ll be sure to post them!

View Your Options

There are many pre-Nursing students who are all aiming towards the same goal; which is to get accepted into the Nursing Program. Unfortunately, everyone who apllies will not get in. Since this is the case it is necessary that all pre-Nursing students have a back up plan. It is important to know the qualifications for other nursing schools in order to apply to more than one.  The chances of getting into UTA’s Nursing school may be harder than another school and vice versa.  Make sure you view all of your options ahead of time, and take whatever steps necessary in order to come closer to your goal.

GPA

It is important that all pre Nursing students maintain a high grade point average. There are many students striving for the same goal, which is to be accepted into the nursing program. Since the competiton is so high it is important that pre Nursing students are taking whatever steps necessary to keep their GPA above average. The required science classes are the most intense course for pre Nursing students at UTA. The grade point average for these classes are a huge deciding factor for the nursing program. Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Nursing Microbiology, and General & Biological Chemistry are the four required science courses. The GPA for these for course are very important. All pre Nursing students should aim for A’s in all of these courses. This will better the chance for acceptance. UTA provides students with the opportunity to retake these four science courses, along with the main prerequisite courses up to three times. All pre Nursing students should take advantage of this opportunity if they are not satisfied with their grade. However, it is important that students use the opportunities wisely. If you stay focused, study hard, work hard, and keep a high GPA there is a very high chance that you will be accepted into the UTA nursing program. Good Luck!

Pre Nursing Tip

If you are a pre-Nursing student, and you do not already have a planner; go get one ! They are very helpful with prioritizing, and they give you a clearer understanding on what needs to be done for your classes.
