This song speaks to many people who have their loved ones fighting wars in different places around the world. As each day goes by, the days get longer and time passes slowly. This song speaks about their significant other being their other half and that is why they want them to come home. The artist is saying they’re fighting their own war by not seeing their loved one. He starts off by asking for forgiveness for speaking what’s on his mind but what he’s saying is what has been on everyone else’s mind. He thinks it might be selfish but doesn’t care since he wants his “better half” to come back. Several people in the U.S. can relate to this song because even though the troops are fighting for a good cause, their families just want them to come home.
