Jesse James nearly got away with the $20,000 he stole from First Fidelity Bank on Tuesday morning, until a passing policeman stopped him. First Fidelity was the same bank the infamous Jesse James was caught stealing from nearly 100 years ago.

“Jesse James was my great-great uncle,” James said. “I was just trying to finish the job he started.”

An explosion at the GMX plant in Arlington killed two factory workers and injured 52 others on Monday morning, said Neena Voltare, public relations director for GMX Corporation.

First responders found Master Engineer Hector Fuentes, 45, and assembly worker James Frankel, 32, dead on the scene from injuries sustained during the explosion. Most of the 52 injured were released on the same day, the three who weren’t released suffered from third-degree burns and smoke inhalation.

The three are currently undergoing treatment at Arlington Memorial hospital. Scott McCoy, 25, is still in critical condition, James T. Kirk, 30, and Leia Skywalker, 33, are in stable condition and have been moved to the burn center rehabilitation area. “Kirk and Skywalker will have a long recovery period that will be painful at times,” said burn specialist Pierce Brosnan.

The fire destroyed assembly line equipment and about 25,000 square feet of the work area, around $2 million in damages, said Voltare.

“Our investigation so far has revealed that someone placed a lit glass bottle filled with gasoline into a large gasoline tank, which caused the explosion,” said fire inspector Colin Ferrell.

Police are currently looking for two white males who were seen in the area around the plant in connection with the explosion. The two young men were seen wearing blue sweatshirts with the word “FORD” on the back.

The plant is scheduled to reopen in September, until then all production will continue at another location.  Employees will be given the option to temporarily relocate to a plant in Midland, Texas until the Arlington plant is reopened. Those who do not relocate will be compensated at 90 percent of their pay while repairs are being made.
