Fall 2017 Pitch of the Week (POW!) Final Challenge, November 30, 2017

Congratulations to The Fearless Scarecrows, the grand champions for Fall 2017 Pitch of the Week! Team members include Divyanshu Sharma, a junior Computer Science major who minors in Mathematics, Whitney Adindu, a sophomore Nursing major, and Subrat Parajuli, a sophomore Electrical Engineering major who minors in Sustainable Engineering. This week’s randomly drawn prompt was comprised of Journalism, Drone and vinyl sheets. The Fearless Scarecrows pitched their Drones361 service, offering to send aerial drones into war-ravaged or natural disaster-stricken locations to provide news and health information via video projection to the misfortunate inhabitants therein. Each member of the Fearless Scarecrows will receive $50 gift cards.

Also playing today were The Leaf Peepers, including Cam Nguyen, a senior Computer Science major, Sameer Ingavale, a senior Business Management major who minors in Entrepreneurship, and Nathan Sundquist, a senior Economics major who minors in Business Administration; and The Common Pheasants, including Hailey Phillips, a freshman Biology major who minors in Biochemistry, Mehul Jain, a juniior Computer Science major who minors in Mathematics, and Rahul Dwivedi, a sophomore Mathematics major who minors in Business. Each of these competitors get $20 gift cards for competing in the final round!

I want to thank our volunteer judges: Alexis Nguyen, local entrepreneur and a startup evangelist, Tony Rutigliano, proprietor of Urban Alchemy Coffee and Wine Bar, and Michelle Reed, UTA Libraries Open Education Librarian; and of course, thanks to our wonderful emcee, Tessa White, for making this event amazing!
